Retinal detachment:

The first symptoms are usually the flashes of light and flies that patients often experience. When this happens, an emergency visit to the ophthalmologist is mandatory, since if the retinal tear is detected before detachment, the treatment with laser photocoagulation is basic for a good evolution of the pathology.
In case there is detachment, surgery is mandatory, and better results are achieved if there is an early detection and treatment.
Vitreo-retinal surgery is one of the most complex surgeries in ophthalmology. Good scientific and methodological knowledge lend, nowadays, excellent results in a pathology that a few years ago resulted in blindness in most cases.
